Who Beat Who – Scott vs Abell

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Malik Scott vs. Joey Abell
1998 Everlast under 19 championships in the 201 weightclass

This is footage of rounds 4 and 5 as Abell is trying to hold on to his 3-2 lead over Scott. Joey gets a crucial warning from the overly authoritative referee Ricky Webb and loses 2 points this was the turning point in the bout as it put more wind into the sails of Scott. After the fourth Al Bernstein analyzes the call and says it’s ridiculous that the referee is just trying to put himself into the match somehow. Very odd boxing match! Ricky Webb has broken all records for the amount of cautions and warnings given during an the amateur match.
