Spotlight – Oyewale Omotoso (Welter) 13-0 (11)
Friday, July 31st, 2009Oyewale, 24, (May 6th, 1985) was born in Nigeria and relocated to Nunawading, Victoria, Australia. He stands at 5′ 10½″ / 179cm and has a reach of 67½″ / 172cm. He is being trained and promoted by Murray Thompson of the Blackburn-based Fighters Factory
He has power in both hands and many feel his money punch though is that right hand. He starts off very fast almost overwhelming his opponents with power but could be out hustled especially in the middle rounds as one of his opponents the 10-3, Samuel Colomban proved when they fought for the Australian Welterweight title. After being dropped twice in the second Samuel was able to take advantage of the fact that Oyewale punched himself out and fought in spurts not only recovering from the early barrage but able to claw his way back into being competitive with Oyewale in the end the scorecards read 96-92.
