Haye vs Ruiz April 2010? then Tua?
Vitali vs KJ December 2009
Wladimir vs ?

The WBA title

Does a title make you champion?

Whether you see David Haye now as a partial Champion in the heavyweight division or as the 3rd or 4th contender to the Ring Championship belt he has still made a statement. Whether his injury back in June was falsified to save face for getting cold feet or not he has still managed to get into the top five heavyweight picture. He is more of a threat now then what he was then fighting Barrett and calling out Wladimir in public.

Why would David’s people want to face John Ruiz an awkward 37 year old veteran ex-titlest who can make you look terrible in April when he can cash in his chips and land a multi-million dollar unification bout with one of the Klitschko’s, Wladimir preferably?

Haye ranks up there above most of the available options the Klitschko’s have to chose from right now on the pound for pound business list. Team Klitschko needs David! he has captured the public’s imagination in a way a John Ruiz or a Kevin Johnson has not yet. If you ask people to give you their wish list on fights they’d like to see in 2010 I bet the one that everyone would put down under Manny vs Floyd is Wlad vs David. It’s lost some of it’s luster since June but with David sweeping away a title it does prove something.

1. Does David Haye risk a potentially huge money fight with one of the Klitschko’s to fight John Ruiz? John waited quietly this long for another shot at the crown he once held but is he a fighter the public demands to see?

2. Where does Nicolay Valuev drop to in the WBA ratings? He faltered in the closing rounds to the smaller but quicker David Haye does he wish to continue fighting or hang them up for good.

Closet Classic – Terrance Lewis vs Ed Mahone

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

This gem I acquired from Brian Cooper who I have been trading with and purchasing fights from since the late 90’s. If it’s quality your after Brian’s the man to contact. I remember trying to record the late showing of it but my VCR going haywire on me and I was a bit disappointed.

The bout took place on April 6th, 2001 at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, NV and Terrence was coming off a good showing against 2x ex-heavyweight Champion, Michael Moorer. He actually rocked Michael in round one and was stopped in the next and by what many think was a premature stoppage. After this bout he would go on to stop Top Prospect Robert Davis in the next bout which was considered ESPN’s heavyweight fight of the year.

I’ve always been a fan of Lewis who was willing to mix it up with anyone in there and whom is always the fan favorite.
